About the Position:
The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs (DIEP) supports the University's mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. Specifically, DIEP endeavors to facilitate practice, offer programming, and influence policies across the broad spectrum of diversity, inclusivity, equity. These endeavors promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Inclusion Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). Reporting to and working under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President, this position serves as the technical affirmative action compliance adviser and is a pivotal contributor to the campus workforce diversity, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and inclusion efforts. The position serves as a liaison and works closely and collaboratively with Talent Acquisition, Academic HR, Faculty Support Services, search committee chairs, and hiring managers on workplace equity and compliance activities. The EEO and Inclusion Specialist supports campus diversity and inclusion efforts through analysis and provision of data and workforce composition graphics as requested and appropriate. The Specialist is responsible for producing and/or working with campus stakeholders and external consulting firms to produce federally mandated employee affirmative action plans and other compliance reports. The position, upon request or direction, conducts or arranges for workforce data statistical analyses aimed at identifying and ultimately addressing areas of potential improvement.

The role is responsible for leading and participating in EEO initiatives, including but not limited to refining diversity metrics, workforce census campaigns, and diversity education efforts. Serves as the technical, administrative specialist and lead for office equitable hiring efforts including the search training efforts working collaboratively with those responsible for training content and delivery. The Specialist will ensure that applicants and employees are given equal opportunities in employment activities regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of specialized and related work experience, Including preparing, implementing, or administering affirmative action plans and producing underutilization data for enhancing diversity efforts. Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements. Experience in OFCCP policies/guidelines and audit provisions for government contractors. Experience in training, providing guidance, and education to the workforce related to federal, state, and university regulations and policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Including Excel or related software. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think analytically and solve problems. Ability to prepare and facilitate affirmative action plans. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to graph analysis and prepare executive briefings for key stakeholders. Experience with applicant tracking systems, such as PageUp.
