JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Department of Automotive Engineering is looking for a Student Services Program Coordinator II to fulfill the following duties:
  • Provides services for students, staff, and faculty for the Department of Automotive Engineering at CU-ICAR.
  • Assists in the processes, procedures, and day to day items for general student issues such as but not limited to:
    • Registration
    • Hiring
    • Graduation
    • Academic Activities
    • Communication
  • Assists staff and faculty with other items related to the above areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Records & Registration Coordination & Compliance:
Assists students with required forms. Reviews students' Plan of Study. Ensures all matriculation procedures and policies are followed. Acts as liaison to the CU Grad School and other University departments. Helps students, staff, & faculty get clarification on procedures & ensure policies are followed. Provides registration assistance to students. Manages course set up in Banner with direction from faculty/GRC. Schedules classrooms for each academic term. Collects and maintains student demographic data. Manages student cubicle assignments. Coordinates PhD Qualifier schedule.

25% - Essential - Current & Prospective Student Communication:
Answers questions from prospective students regarding application process and requirements, and other new student questions. Communicates with current students regarding academic announcements, due dates, graduation deadlines, etc. Manages new student onboarding, including communications on housing, student health, event details, etc. and presenting material on department policies (graduate manual, safety, etc.). Acts as department/staff liaison to CUICAR Student Association. Manages communication for AUE Certificate program and other initiatives as directed.

20% - Essential - Events:
Coordinates and/or attends student focused events as directed. Examples may include but are not limited to: New student orientation, recruitment events, annual fellowship and awards ceremony, industry employment information sessions, tours (prospective student, university representative, and/or industry partner) and miscellaneous departmental events.

15% - Essential - Assessment & Tracking:
Serves on departmental assessment committee and provide administrative assistance to faculty assessment committee chair, collect and maintain records on relevant student data related to alumni, internships, and demographics.

10% - Essential - Student Hiring & Employment / Assistantship & Fellowship Manager:
Manages and maintains contracts for departmental GRAs and GTAs, coordinating with appropriate faculty and staff. Updates GS61 report for departmental TAs & Fellows in conjunction with payroll personnel. Lead administrator for all internal items

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience - Experience in Student Services Programs

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

5% - Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range - ($ 41,777.00 - $ 50,000.00)
