Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology – Social
The Department of Psychology at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2022-2024 academic years. This 2-year position is open to applicants in any sub-discipline, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in Social Psychology. Ability to teach courses in our Statistics and Methods sequence is also desirable. The position involves an in-person teaching load of 18-credits per year which typically equates to a 2-3 course load. Specific courses will be decided in conjunction with the department chair and will include Social Psychology and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Visiting faculty are eligible for departmental and college-wide mentoring and funds to support their teaching and research initiatives.

Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting a diverse population of undergraduates is essential.
Skidmore College is a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs, New York with a student population of 2,600, 26% of whom are domestic students of color, 10% are international students, and 15% are first generation college students. With its relatively small size and low student-faculty ratio (8:1), the College is a close-knit academic community.
Education:
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience who have a Ph.D. in psychology or, if ABD, will complete the Ph.D. by Fall 2022.
