Title: Adjunct Faculty-Counseling

Employee Classification: P/T Faculty Biweekly

Position Summary:

Counselors provide services that impact academic achievement and student retention in a variety of ways. They provide student counseling regarding academic success, mental health concerns, and referrals to campus and community resources.

Primary Duties Performed:

Part-time counselors provide mental health/personal counseling to students, crisis intervention as needed, consultation to full-time and part-time faculty and staff regarding student mental health issues, provide mental health resources and referrals to students as needed; they maintain appropriate documentation. In addition to providing excellent mental health counseling, all adjunct counseling faculty members will be expected to work within the ethical guidelines of the American Counseling Association as well as the ethical guidelines of the College. May provide outreach and mental health programming as needed. Counseling assignments will be primarily day hours, with a possible occasional evening if needed, on one of four campuses or rotation among campuses if needed.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Counseling, two years’ experience providing a full range of counseling services including suicide prevention and crisis intervention.

Preferred Qualifications:

College counseling experience, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensure eligible.

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and education
