Title: Adjunct - Reading (Pool of Applicants)

Position Summary:
This position is create a pool of qualified adjunct applicants to teach reading fundamentals to a diverse student population. Qualified candidates are invited to submit a current CV or resume, a cover letter, and transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. STLCC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Primary Duties Performed:
This faculty member will teach developmental reading and college reading preparation classes to a diverse student population. Faculty member will maintain accurate records, provide student conferences during regular office hours, and work collaboratively within the English & Reading Department to promote the goals of STLCC.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in subject area, OR any Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Reading, and relevant post-secondary teaching experience including teaching of reading. Applicants will also complete training as listed below.
*For face-to-face and live virtual courses: Blackboard Advance II and Best Practices in Teaching
*For hybrid and online courses: Blackboard Advance II, Best Practices in Teaching, and Quality Matters
(Training may be completed within two months after employment.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in subject area, OR any Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in reading, and relevant post-secondary teaching experience with diverse populations and QM certified.
The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree with 18 credit hours in the relevant subject area and three years relevant post secondary teaching experience including teaching reading; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
