Title: WW Campus - Adjunct Faculty in English

Position Summary:
The successful applicant will teach sections of college level Composition, Workplace Writing, Reading, Literature, and Humanities. Instructors are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping, and compliance with legal and institutional obligations. Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to regularly use standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate. Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
Primary Duties Performed:
In addition to providing excellent instruction, all faculty members are expected to adhere to the following specific requirements:
•Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours that are convenient for your students;
•Providing meaningful, timely responses and feedback to students’ work and questions;
•Meeting all department and college deadlines;
•Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and reporting attendance as required;
•Reporting both midterm and final grades on Banner Web;
•Attending scheduled adjunct faculty meetings and training sessions;
•Successfully completing policy-related tutorials;
•Checking messages and college voice mail accounts on a timely basis;
•Responding to messages and requests from students and administration within the
24 hours immediately following receipt; and
•Complying with all provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Required Qualifications:
MA in English or MA in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English courses at the graduate level. Related fields may include, among others: Communication, Rhetoric, Composition, Reading, Humanities or language-related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in English or a related field as described above, classroom experience and proficiency in teaching-related technologies
