SCC seeks a full-time Institutional Research Analyst II who will provide support to the Director and the Research and Data Analyst in the Department of Institutional Research. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, validation, and dissemination; creating, updating, and maintaining databases, completing ad hoc requests, completing routine reporting, and assisting with survey completion.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support enrollment and retention initiatives by assisting other departments, specifically Student Services, with data needs by creating reports, providing in-depth data analysis, data summarization, and data visualizations.

  • Identify, obtain, and analyze institutional and other relevant data in a timely manner, ensuring it is accurate and easily digestible.

  • Collaborate with departments such as Admissions and Recruitment, Enrollment Services, and Financial Aid to access data, address issues with student data quality, and maintain data integrity.

  • Assist with survey creation, administration, and analysis. This refers to custom surveys for IR, custom surveys for other departments, and external surveys that SCC participates in.

  • Complete specified routine IR tasks and compliance reporting independently (Common Data Set) and assist with others (IPEDS, State Reporting, NCCBP).

  • Create and deliver end user training and documentation for analytics tools, visualizations, and reports. Write appropriate processes for developing queries and running reports.

  • Use the following tools to accomplish tasks: Office Suite (including Excel), Adobe, SAS, Crystal Reports, SQL Developer, dotCMS. Some on the job training will be provided.

  • Employ a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.

  • Assist with the management of the Research Approval Committee.

  • Compile literature and research on topics as assigned.

  • Create and update task, report, and data query processes.

  • Proofread documents, reports, and tables for errors as directed.

  • Assist with the implementation of initiatives as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Institutional Research experience.
  • Experience using SAS, SQL, Colleague, Power BI.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with One (1) year experience in related field, OR
  • Associates degree or higher plus three (3) years' experience in related field, OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six years related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher Education experience.
