Graduate Communication and Admissions Specialist

Position Summary:
The Graduate Communication Specialist has the responsibility to design and maintain outgoing communication in the university CRM for graduate recruitment, application processes and student enrollment in an effort to promote applicant experience and support individual academic units with communication needs. The individual in this position will also create internal marketing materials to promote graduate programs. The position will work closely with the Director of Graduate Studies for each individual graduate program, the Director of Graduate Admissions, and the Graduate Student Support coordinator.

The position will provide support during the peak season or as needed for the Graduate Admissions Office as a processor for graduate applications from submission to decision. The individual in this position will use the university CRM and other related operation systems to compile application documentation, maintain confidential information, evaluate records, determine admission eligibility, and provide guidance to prospective and current applicants.



Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in designing and developing communications and communication plans
  • Experience interpreting, applying and explaining legal interpretations of laws, rules, policies and procedures
  • Editing, proofreading correspondence and monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors with attention to detail
  • Working in a customer service-orientated team environment to accomplish shared goals
  • editing and writing using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette and communication skills with a drive for exceeding customer expectations
  • Commitment to the student and office to insure applicant success in the process of university enrollment
  • Experience working professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations
  • Bachelors degree
