Position Summary:
The Monmouth University Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies seeks a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the Program Director for Advanced Level Nursing Education. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dedicated faculty team and help grow our excellent graduate nursing program in a vibrant school that embraces innovative nursing and health professions education and celebrates diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility. This is a 12-month, full-time administrative position. If eligible for tenure at Monmouth University, the position may include faculty title and rank based on background and experience. The Program Director for Advanced Level Nursing Education reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with the Nursing Department Chair, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director, and other nursing program directors, as well as the trans-disciplinary leadership team in the School and University. The ideal candidate must be an excellent leader with expertise in graduate nursing education and innovative instructional modalities with demonstrated academic and scholarly achievement. The Director provides strategic and visionary leadership for the graduate nursing program and for advancing student success. The Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies has 38 full-time faculty, 14 staff, and close to 1,000 students. The School offers graduate health studies, health promotion, health and physical education; master's physician assistant; doctoral occupational therapy; graduate, master's, and doctoral nursing programs. The School also offers post-master's and post-baccalaureate certificates and continuing education programs. Nursing students have access to a dedicated nursing health assessment lab as well as the School's new 7,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art Linda Grunin Simulation Learning Lab and Learning Center, a groundbreaking partnership between Monmouth University and Monmouth Medical Center that provides hands-on learning in a realistic, hi-tech simulation environment.

Our MSN programs have been nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report, placing them among the best graduate nursing programs in New Jersey. We have also been ranked among the top 100 best nursing schools in New Jersey (#4), in the Mid-Atlantic Region (#40), and private nursing schools nationwide (#99) by Nursing Almanac Schools 2021. Monmouth's graduate nursing program has been named one of the best ACEN and CCNE Accredited MSN-FNP programs for 2021 in the Northeast by GraduateNursingEDU.org. The BSN, MSN, DNP, and post-graduate APRN certificate programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Eligible candidates must have an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field. If the earned doctorate is not in nursing, candidates must have a master’s degree in nursing.

Demonstrated teaching excellence and innovation with full-time academic experience in nursing education at the graduate level.

New Jersey professional registered nurse licensure or eligibility with license required within 30 days of appointment dependent on Board of Nursing response time.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and writing skills.

Experience mentoring peers, faculty, and/or students.

Experience with technology and/or computer hardware or software and the ability to learn new technology and software programs quickly.

Ability to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

A record of academic and professional achievement and service.

Preferred Qualifications:
An earned research doctorate (PhD, EdD, or equivalent).

Current nurse practitioner certification, with priority to adult-gerontology, family, and psychiatric mental health advanced practice.

Demonstrated leadership, management, or team building experience.

Experience in graduate nursing curricular/program development and/or accreditation.

A record of commitment to diversity and equity that is evidenced across faculty, students, stakeholders, and programs.

Simulation-based nursing education and/or interprofessional education experience.

Ability to meet challenges of adult learners with diverse backgrounds.

A record of achievement in scholarship, publications, and presentations.

A record of accomplishment commensurate with appointment as Associate Professor or full Professor with tenure in the Department of Nursing in the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies.
