Across the Ed System, supports the employee relations function as needed.
  • Manages the effective execution of the talent management initiatives to include the areas of:
    • On-Boarding
    • Orientation
    • Training
    • Performance review planning and execution
    • Succession and leadership planning
  • Through effective policy management and development, manages employee relations risks and issues to a minimum. Interacts directly with inside and outside counsel on ER matters. Pays particular attention to current and new legal matters as well as overall corporate policy.
  • Assists in the management of the effective administration of salary, compensation and benefits program. This is completed thru the effective management of HR team members and resources to limit corporate liability and issues in selected areas.
  • Develops and communicates to HR team members managing the employee information portal what information should and need to be communicated and what constitutes a timely fashion.
  • Develops and details special projects and/or events such as training programs, benefits enrollment, employee recognition, etc. as needed.
  • Manages other HR staff.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Relations or a related field is required with a Master's degree preferred
    • Seven to ten years' experience in Human Resources or related field preferably in a post-secondary education environment or other field with large employee base and strong external customer service requirements (e.g., health care, retail, financial or mortgage services, etc.).
    • Two or more years of direct supervisory experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations cases including EEOC charges.
    • Experience in higher education is a plus.
    • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and staff populations.
    • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
    • Strong computer literacy skills with the MS Office suite as well as HRIS database applications.
    • Highly skilled with Excel spreadsheets and managing data.
    • Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
    • Ability to plan, coordinate, monitor and motivate the activities of others.
    • Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
    • Ability to work without close supervision and to set one's own priorities.
