Candidate must have some experience in programming computers using one or more high level language. The candidate will also have familiarity with, and experience using Microsoft Windows in a networked environment. Experience working with Ellucian’s Colleague is highly desirable. Also desirable is experience writing end user reports utilizing Entrinsik’s Informer report writing software. Experience working in a Higher Education environment will also be considered a plus. Minimum Education/Training/Experience
An associate’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Education/Training/Experience
An associate’s degree in computer science or related field with experience working in an information technology environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with 1 year experience working in an information technology environment working as a computer programmer in any high level programming language. A working knowledge of Windows in a networked environment. A working knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague Studio programming tool kit. Some understanding of UniQuery, UniBasic. Any experience utilizing Colleague Studio, Entrinsik’s Informer report writer. Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of:
1 years experience in one or more programming languages
An understanding of relational data base structure and 1 year of experience working with complex data systems
Skill in:
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to learn quickly.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written skills
Excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Experience with Higher Ed CRM or ERP systems, particularly Ellucian Colleague.
Experience with Eclipse/Colleague Studio development environment.
Experience with SQL and/or Unidata/UniVerse/U2 or other large-scale relational database.
Experience with C# and the .net framework.
Experience integrating APIs or other outside applications (including cloud-based systems) with internal enterprise systems.
Experience with JavaScript or other script languages.
Experience with report design/development, particularly Informer reporting solution.
Experience customizing Ellucian Self Service. Licensing/Certification Requirements
None Required Job Duties
Participate in project requirements gathering, analysis, and design meetings and collaborative sessions to determine feasibility, provide solution recommendations, and make time and effort estimations for new project requests.
Prepare documentation and user detailed instructions related to technical requirements and specifications.
Provide programming and high-level technical support to facilitate successful implementation and adoption of new or upgraded systems. Current system of focus is Ellucian Colleague ( SIS / ERP ).
Analyzes, reviews, and improves existing program(s) to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Gain and apply knowledge and expertise of departmental processes.
Make recommendations to departmental users on technical solutions, process requirements, and problem resolution.
Facilitate the implementation and integration of 3rd party software with Colleague ERP when necessary.
Develop and modify reports and dashboards for campus constituents as needed using Informer reporting solution and/or query tools (UniQuery).
Develop and deliver Colleague related training to end users in use of new and upgraded modules either individually or in a classroom setting.
Designs, develops, and supports automated processes to support integration with 3rd party interfaces.
Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Minimum Salary Range $51,028 Mid Point Salary Range .
