Muskingum University invites applications for a limited-term (renewable) full-time faculty position in Public Health Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning the Fall semester of 2022.   This bachelor’s level program is growing steadily and provides an interdisciplinary perspective to the field of public health.   The successful candidate will teach classes in public health and epidemiology, community health, personal health, global health and other areas in the individual’s area of graduate studies.  A new Health and Wellness Complex will open in 2022, providing extraordinary opportunities for student participation in community health initiatives and community partnerships.

A Doctorate in Public Health or related field is required; ABD candidates will be considered but will be expected to complete the degree within one year.  The successful candidate will have experience in undergraduate teaching and a passion for student development and advising.  Significant experience in public health is essential for this position as are strong collaborative skills, the ability to work within a team environment, and the capacity for visible involvement in the broader southeastern Ohio community to build connections with the public health community.

Muskingum University, a comprehensive university with a strong liberal arts tradition, is located just seventy miles east of Columbus, Ohio, in the village of New Concord.  Founded in 1837, the university's total undergraduate, graduate, and adult-learner student population is approximately 2500.
