  • The Department of World Languages seeks an Adjunct Lecturer to teach beginner Spanish and Spanish for the Professions on the Lakewood Campus. This a part-time, non-tenure position. Evening slots work best at 4-6 or 5-7 but days are available.

  • Teach one or more Spanish courses per semester (3 credits each).
  • Prepare syllabus and send to Department Chair by the first day of class.
  • Follow Department and GCU policies.
  • Assess learning outcomes for General Education reports (1x per semester usually).
  • Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
  • Trainings for technology and staying current in the field
  • Master’s degree in appropriate field required (Spanish or MA in Teaching).
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the beginner and/or intermediate levels.
  • Ability to teach traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Understanding of the 1st Generation College Student.
  • Experience using a course management system such as Blackboard.
  • Experience teaching with the internet as a source for authentic cultural realia.
  • Willingness to participate in trainings for faculty development.
