About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
The HR Associate will report to the HR Manager and will work under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean of Administration and Finance in the Administrative Resource Center, College of Engineering. In partnership with hiring managers and faculty supervisors, the position will provide support in a variety of HR functions. The responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting and coordinating faculty and staff search efforts and the hiring process for all positions including faculty, staff, part-time, temporary, visitor, intern and volunteer. The HR Associate will execute action steps and oversee reappointment scheduling, promotions and terminations, annual performance appraisal process as well as the off-contract compensation program. Responsibilities also include the coordination of immigration sponsorship for employees as needed. The HR Associate serves as the liaison with University HR and Payroll on employee relations matters, troubleshooting system issues, trainings, and policy and procedures communications. The position will maintain accurate personnel file and records and will provide general HR report requests. The HR Associate will serve as back-up for team members during absences.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with three years of experience in a customer focused environment. Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and sensitivity while exercising good judgment is required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Must be a flexible team player with the ability to operate independently after initial project assignment and with periodic guidance.
