Summer Events Director

Job Details



Summer Events Director is responsible for coordinating all summer events and scheduling across campus. These events include summer high school institutes, academic bridge programs, athletic day camps, arts festival, conferences, and external reservations. Director will work with Arts Festival Coordinator, Summer Programs Coordinator, Residential Life, Admissions, new student orientation coordinator, Marketing/Communications, University Advancement, and others who are responsible for orchestrating summer programming. It is the responsibility of the Summer Events Director to leverage campus facilities to maximize the use of campus during the summer months. The director plays a pivotal role in recruiting students and raising public awareness of Alfred University. The director is expected to initiate and drive programming that will increase enrollment and produce revenue for the university.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops programming that will recruit prospective students, serve the region, and increase the reputation and recognition of Alfred University
  • Works with the VPs of Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs to set programmatic and enrollment goals.
  • Creates short and long term planning, including program assessment and resource management.
  • Works to maximize use of all campus facilities, planning events throughout the year.
  • Manages summer calendar scheduling events and facilities.
  • Promotes summer events in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Works with all coordinators of summer programming to ensure collaboration across campus.
Requirements:
  • Formal Education: Bachelor's degree, masters preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional work experience; knowledge and experience in higher education preferred.
  • Essential Functions: High degree of professionalism, ability to communicate with many different audiences, ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, demonstrated collaborative leadership skills, mature judgment and creative problem solving skills, creativity and energy highly valued.
