Position Summary:
***New hires for this position will be eligible for a $750 sign-on bonus at the completion of 180 days of employment

The Custodial Supervisor supervises and oversees the work of his/her custodial staff to ensure that buildings and surrounding areas are properly cleaned/maintained and that all events are properly set.

Essential Functions:
Offer is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and a post-offer pre-employment screening.
•Takes inventory of student rooms and schedules replacement furniture needs.
•Schedules pick -up and delivery of furniture and other supplies to college dorms and houses.
•Determines and schedules staffing needs for daily routines and overtime for special events reoccurring functions utilizing the Resource 25 scheduling program and documents sent via campus mail and e-mail.
•Investigates, documents and follows through on student damage, student well-being, employee and building issues.
•Manages employment process of assigned custodial teams, including completing request for personnel, interviewing, selection, supervision of assigned staff, conducting performance reviews, providing training and timekeeping approval.
•Counsels staff and handles disciplinary problems with some assistance from the Manager.
•Assures that the staff is properly equipped and the equipment is maintained in proper working order.
•Maintains project list.
•Reports building maintenance work orders to Customer Service Coordinator.
•Helps establish and maintain inter-departmental relations with all departments and the College community.
•Assists with establishing standards and quality controls for work performance and oversees and inspects the work of the custodial staff.
•Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
•Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established departmental practices and procedures, and ensures employees do the same.

General Responsibilities:
•Attends meetings to coordinate scheduling needs with other departments.
•May be required to fill in as lead person in emergency situations or in the absence of the Manager.
•Procures local purchase items, orders materials and recommends equipment needs for budgeting purposes.
•Issues building keys to custodial staff on a daily basis.
•Assists the Safety Officer in gaining compliance with fire safety issues by working with the commons and students.
•Works with Human Resources and outside agencies on worker’s compensation issues.
•Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.

Qualifications
Education:

High school diploma required. Basic computer experience required.

Microsoft Office experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Knowledge of maintenance and use of various cleaning products and equipment.
•Good interpersonal skills. Must have excellent attendance, strong leadership skills and must work overtime when needed.
•Must follow and enforce College policies.
•Must work closely with his/her immediate supervisor with very close verbal communication.
•Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a College license.
•Must be able to work independently but maintain cohesion within the supervisory team.

Experience:
2 years previous work experience with demonstrated leadership abilities. Supervisory experience preferred.
