Responsibilities
The Director of Enrollment has overall strategic management responsibility and accountability for the recruitment and admissions function for Graduate Business Programs.

Recruitment - In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Graduate Business, the Director of Enrollment develops strategy that drives related performance-based recruiting tactics to ensure that the Department meets or exceeds specific enrollment and revenue goals for its programs.

Admissions - The Director of Enrollment: (1) collaborates with Associate Dean of Graduate Business and its Academic Program Directors to establish admission standards for each program, (2) interprets, applies and defends these standards, as manager of a complex student assessment and decision making process, and (3) ensures that each customer (applicant) receives an exemplary admissions experience.

1. Recruitment - Strategic/Tactical

Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Graduate Business to set annual enrollment and revenue goals for each program in the Department, then develops and implements business development strategies and tactics to meet or exceed these goals.

Develops strategies to maximize the potential of online and social media recruitment and Customer Relationship Management Programs. Develop tools, scripts, and strategies to increase yield from traditional and online and social media recruitment efforts.

Leads the hiring and assesses the performance of the Recruitment and Admissions staff on an annual cycle.

2. Recruitment - Quality Assurance

Develops processes, procedures, and policies for recruitment and admissions. Manages and supervises Recruitment and Admissions staff to ensure that they implement mutually agreed upon policies and tactics and follows a performance-based work plan, based on relationship selling, to meet specific enrollment goals for each program.

Ensures that Recruitment and Admissions staff work professionally, competently, and efficiently with each prospect towards admission.

Monitors the performance of members of the recruitment and admissions team and collaborates with the Associate Director of Academic Services, as necessary, to optimize team integration and student transition from applicants to registered students.

Analyzes and refines all recruitment processes, procedures and events to ensure student satisfaction and enrollment performance.

3. Recruitment - Business Development

Responsible for development of the recruitment schedule for Graduate Business Programs, including:
a) Determination of information sessions to be offered, timing, location, and frequency of recruiting events.
b) Responsible for assuring high quality of information session events that convey the quality of our different programs in all locations.
c) Responsible for staging the events, including coordination with Program Directors, selection of faculty, and student/ alumni guest speakers.
d) Makes presentations, representing Graduate Business and its programs, at recruiting events (SMC open house events), professional forums, conferences, panel discussions.
e) Directs the work of Recruitment and Admissions staff to optimize their ability to drive inquirers through the "admissions funnel" to a decision to join Graduate Business Programs.
f) Directs the efforts of Graduate Business to be an active and contributing member to a consortium of college and universities in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento area, dedicated to the creation of off-campus corporate recruiting events for member schools.

4. Admissions - Student Assessment

Conducts an assessment of eligibility for a prospective student interested in a specific program in Graduate Business. The assessment typically involves an effort to match the prospect with the program that best serves the prospect's need and capabilities.

Evaluates the completed file of program applicants of candidates, then conducts a one-on-one, in-depth interview with the applicant and Program Director to determine eligibility for admission.

Sets up team-based interviews to determine the eligibility of each "marginal applicant" for admission into a specific program. The admissions team constitutes the Director of Enrollment and at least one of the following individuals: Associate Dean, Program Director, or a faculty member.

Collaborates with all Directors of Programs to ensure completion of application files and assists in the assessment of applicants as required.

5. The Director of Enrollment is responsible for developing strategies and implementing programming to heighten the level of alumni's engagement and referrals to meet enrollment targets. Collaborates with Director of Marketing and Outreach on recruitment efforts of prospective candidates for increasing enrollments via referrals from Graduate Business alumni.

6. Participate in, and provide support for, SEBA and College events including Graduate Business New Student Orientation, Graduate Business Student Advisory Board, Commencement Ceremony and other student-related events.

Experience and Qualifications

Education: REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree

PREFERRED: Graduate Degree

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Ideal candidate would have 7+ years of experience in recruiting and admissions in higher education, preferably in graduate business programs including a solid understanding of MBA and Executive MBA Programs, MS Programs and the higher education landscape.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical): Leadership, strategic thinking, able to manage people, project management; outstanding verbal and written skills, including public speaking skills; able to work independently and as a member of a team; high level of initiative; outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines; ability to manage and negotiate with multiple outside vendors; strong proficiency in using the admissions CRM Slate, Windows operating systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database management, email and internet usage; experience working with databases; experience working with social networking sites (ex: LinkedIn, Facebook, etc); strong eye for detail and design; ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all members of a culturally diverse campus community.

Other requirements: (e.g. travel, weekend/evening work): Some Evening and weekend work required. Some travel required.
