Position Summary:
The Department of Biology at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in ecology with specialization in human impacts on vertebrates beginning August 2022.

Demonstrated excellence, or evidence of the potential to excel, in undergraduate teaching, advising and research mentoring is essential, as is evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies that foster diversity and inclusion. Teaching duties will include introductory-level biology courses and biostatistics, comparative vertebrate anatomy and elective courses in their field. The successful candidate can be expected to develop a compelling research program, publish in peer-reviewed scholarly sources, and actively mentor student capstone research projects. Institutional and departmental service are also required.



Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Ecology by date of appointment is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates whose research and teaching focus on applied ecological issues such as conservation or restoration ecology will be preferred, as will be candidates able to take advantage of the ecological research facilities currently available to Susquehanna University such as the Center for Environmental Education and Research and the Natural Science Center.
