Job Summary

Drexel University seeks an experienced Video Production Specialist to join their award-winning Instructional Design and Multimedia Services (IDMS) team. IDMS is responsible for developing engaging educational video and multimedia solutions for instructional course content. This position will assist the team with pre-production, production, and post-production services; the development of multimedia presentations; and the management of all digital assets, media and production equipment.

Essential Functions

• Operate video cameras, microphones, lights, and other video production equipment as needed.
• Design graphics, illustrate, edit, and animate educational digital assets and learning objects.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and university faculty to produce multimedia assets for online course delivery.
• Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for video production.
• Assist with administration of IDMS’s video production schedules and calendar.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using software tools and utilities to transfer, handle, store and preserve multimedia assets.
• Assist in organization and maintenance of IDMS’s post-production server and equipment inventory.
• Aid in all tasks related to the video production process.
• Perform special tasks as assigned by Director of Multimedia Services.
• Work independently, as well as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected as well as a demonstrated ability to acquire new technological skills and resolve problems in a resourceful and timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Video Production, Film & Video or Multimedia related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of preproduction/planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, studio and field production, lighting/grip, audio engineering, video composition and narrative storytelling
• Strong post-production skills in digital video editing, still and motion graphics design, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms
• Strong production skills in camera operation and lighting
• Working knowledge of managing media assets
• Up to date with new industry technological advances and software
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC and Adobe After Effects CC

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering and managing digital asset systems
• Working Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Camtasia, Kaltura, Apple Final Cut X, video captioning workflow and metadata entry
• Experience producing and editing educational videos in a university setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
