Job Summary

Academic Information & Systems (AIS) is a centralized department of Systems Analysts within the Enrollment Management and Student Success Division that support the academic, administrative, and operational units of Drexel University. The AIS Team of Systems Analysts and Managers maintain the functional aspects of the core enterprise software applications that house student information across the life cycle, providing training, documentation, and support to all users.

The Systems Analyst is responsible for the functional support, ensuring the student systems operate efficiently and effectively by applying technologic and business practice solutions. The Systems Analyst provides demonstrated expertise and leadership to the departments and users of the supported systems. The goal of the Systems Analyst is to optimize the value derived from the use of the administrative and student systems.

This Systems Analyst position will primarily support the Enrollment Management and Student Success Admissions Office, and the satellite Admissions offices across Drexel University utilizing the Technolutions Slate CRM. The Systems Analyst works collaboratively with the various Admissions teams, Communications and Marketing, and Operations unit to understand the initiative or business problem to be solved and recommend solutions within the Technolutions Slate CRM. The Systems Analyst defines the project scope, ensure appropriate offices are notified of needs for resources, building, testing, and monitoring the project tasks until completion.

Essential Functions
  • The Systems Analyst interfaces regularly with the Admissions and Operations Offices to analyze business practices, evaluate needs of the unit, and review and recommend Slate functionality to improve efficiency.
  • Works collaboratively with the admissions offices and other administrative/academic departments to define, develop and document office and inter-office policies and procedures. Must be able to carry out needs assessment, system integration and design support and general change management support.
  • Proactively recommends and implements new Slate technologies and features. Creates training plans, training documentation and conducts training sessions related to student software systems and processes.
  • Works closely with the Communications & Marketing team, in conjunction with Admissions and Operations for the student facing experience. This includes overseeing tools that support both print and online communication within the CRM. The analyst will ensure that data is displayed or extracted accurately, meeting the admissions offices timelines.
  • The analyst will have a role in identifying project priorities for applying annual updates and improvements related to admissions processing. Project collaboration with administrative departments can include utilizing HTML, CSS, and SQL to support the goals of the admissions units.
  • Develops queries and reports, which support the needs of the administrative and academic offices and senior management. Ensures data integrity when importing data from multiple external sources to the integrated student information system and CRM using existing methodologies.
  • Occasionally works with IT Systems Engineers, Database Administrators, and other technical staff, as needed, for data integration between the Slate CRM to Ellucian Banner Student System and Document Management tool.
  • Works collaboratively with all colleagues to ensure optimal service satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business
  • 3 to 5 years in support of technology development and systems analyst experience, higher education experience a plus.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner Admissions/Student module desired
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize projects and multi-task.
  • Project management background that includes complex, multifunction technical projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with technical training to non-technical audiences, development of test plans and supporting documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, excellent verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with Technolutions Slate highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to generate reports using report-generation tools. Familiarity with SQL, CSS and HTML beneficial. Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise (OBIEE)/Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) preferred.
