GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Northland Pioneer College, an accredited community college
located in northeastern Arizona, seeks a full-time Faculty in
Chemistry for its largest campus, located in Show Low, Arizona. We
are looking for someone who prioritizes teaching and embraces the
challenges of a rural community college, including instructing many
first-generation students and students who face multiple obstacles
in pursuing higher education.
The position primarily entails teaching courses in introductory
chemistry and a one-semester chemistry course for non-STEM majors.
Instructional modalities include in-person lectures and/or delivery
via the college's established teleconferencing facilities and
systems. Pandemic conditions permitting, the successful candidate
will teach in-person labs (with appropriate COVID-19 mitigation
measures as needed). In addition, faculty are expected to engage in
a variety of duties outside of teaching such as serving on various

individuals. Because of the great distances that separate us,
collaboration has always been a special challenge, but the pandemic
has helped us forge a strong team that embraces innovation,

The community of Show Low is a small town located at 6500 ft.
elevation and is surrounded by national forest, characterized
locally by large stands of ponderosa pines. Outdoor recreation
opportunities like hiking, fishing, birdwatching as well as winter
sports are plentiful.
Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Show Low area,
must be able to legally work in the United States and possess a
valid driver's license. The position starts August 8, 2022.
