Northland Pioneer College, an accredited community college located in northeastern Arizona, seeks a full-time Faculty in Chemistry for its largest campus, located in Show Low, Arizona. We are looking for someone who prioritizes teaching and embraces the challenges of a rural community college, including instructing many first-generation students and students who face multiple obstacles in pursuing higher education.

The position primarily entails teaching courses in introductory chemistry and a one-semester chemistry course for non-STEM majors. Instructional modalities include in-person lectures and/or delivery via the college's established teleconferencing facilities and systems. Pandemic conditions permitting, the successful candidate will teach in-person labs (with appropriate COVID-19 mitigation measures as needed). In addition, faculty are expected to engage in a variety of duties outside of teaching such as serving on various college committees.

The successful candidate will join a science department comprised of a dozen enthusiastic, supportive, and collaborative individuals. Because of the great distances that separate us, collaboration has always been a special challenge, but the pandemic has helped us forge a strong team that embraces innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We also have fun together.

The community of Show Low is a small town located at 6500 ft. elevation and is surrounded by national forest, characterized locally by large stands of ponderosa pines. Outdoor recreation opportunities like hiking, fishing, birdwatching as well as winter sports are plentiful.

Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Show Low area, must be able to legally work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license. The position starts August 8, 2022.
