Job Summary

We are looking for a PostDoctoral Associate to carry out research in gyrokinetic theory and simulation.

Who We Are

The PARKER Research Group studies multiscale kinetic simulation methods and extreme scale computing applied tokamak edge turbulence and transport. Additionally, we are working on problems in quantum information science relevant to fusion plasma science, including the impact of quantum computing on nonlinear computational mathematics and direct numerical simulation of ultra-cold ion crystals. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Research areas might include electromagnetic full kinetic ion models, equilibrium flow models in gyrokinetic simulation, edge turbulence simulation, and large scale computing and optimization of gyrokinetic particle simulation.
  • Research can range from algorithm development to using simulation to better understand experimental results.

  • The start date is flexible, as the position is currently open.

What We Can Offer

$65,000.00-$75,000.00.

What We Require
  • Ph.D.
  • Research experience in applied mathematics, physics, or related engineering field is needed.
