Major/Essential Functions
- Works with the External Relations Vice President, Sr. Director of Events and other team members to set priorities and objectives related to the visitor experience and the Vitals Spirit Shop operations.
- Develops and executes innovative visitor servicing strategy for both in person visitors and online visitors
- Develops and executes action plans that outlines a specific set of achievable goals that will enhance the visitor experience.
- Manages and improves wayfinding solutions to make visitors more comfortable and confident navigating TTUHSC.
- Works with stakeholders on an as-needed basis to plan and execute visitor programs and projects.
- Manages day to day operations of the visitor center and the Vitals Spirit Shop operations.
- Prepares the annual budget for the visitor center and the Vitals Spirit Shop operations.
- Measures success of the visitor center by tracking and routinely reporting the number of visitors, brochures distributed or downloaded, social media followers, website visitors, retail sales, and other metrics as requested.
- Recruits, trains, supervises and develops staff and volunteers.
- Runs pop up visitor servicing activities and retail operations at TTUHSC’s regional campuses and other locations as needed.
- Develops and offers brochures, fact sheets, maps, posters and other information to tell the many stories and history of TTUHSC.
- Manages the visitor services website in such a way that excites and attracts visitors to TTUHSC.
- Engages with the local tourism industry to drive traffic to the TTUHSC visitor center and the visitor services website.
- Manages and responds to online reviews and location-based listings for the visitor center.
- Uses social media to share the story of TTUHSC.
- Works with programs, schools and other departments to enhance the visitor experience at TTUHSC.
- Participates in and provides routine updates to the External Affairs Council.
- Communicates with Texas Tech Physicians’ Patient Services personnel as needed to ensure visiting patients locate the appropriate clinic for appointments.
- Ensures service expectations for inbound inquiries (calls, emails, etc.) are met.
- Organizes and conducts walking tours of TTUHSC to include Red Bag Tours, dignitaries, etc.
- Coordinates VIP tours with Government Relations, Office of the President and other executive offices as needed.
- Works in a manner that reflects the Values of TTUHSC.
