Job Summary:
The Assistant VP for University Auxiliary Services at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the (full-time, 12 month) Information Systems Coordinator for Auxiliary Services. This position will provide advanced IT engineering support and leadership for all Auxiliary Services units while providing advanced engineering support for the University Card Systems, applications and related infrastructure and other systems.
Required Education:
Extensive knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures for computer and communications systems.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures for enterprise system and application administration. Thorough knowledge of Windows hardware and software and appropriate enterprise system practices. Considerable knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures for the support of application-based databases and reporting. Considerable knowledge o of Web development, programming and scripting for the support, enhancement and integration of applications and systems, using programs such as C++, Pearl, Java, PHP, BASH, Powershell and others. Ability to drive results in a complex environment and to work and finish multiple projects concurrently. Ability to work with new leading-edge technology with minimal assistance or limited prior knowledge. Considerable experience with systems and applications support and administration. Some experience with communications networks and network protocols. Some experience with Web development, programming and scripting for the support, enhancement and integration of applications and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Some experience with the administration and support of CBORD’s CS-Gold application and associated hardware. Cisco certified associate, professional or expert level career certifications, such as, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Internet working Expert or equivalent knowledge. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or training and experience equivalent to a degree.
Conditions of Employment:
40-hour work week Monday-Friday; Some evenings and weekends; rotating on call.
