Job Description Summary

To provide compensation consulting and administration of college’s base pay and performance management systems. Perform compensation analysis, which involves gathering and analyzing external market data and internal employee data. Conduct internal and external research that leads to compensation recommendations on design and policy. Provide excellent customer services to internal customers and clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration, accounting, finance, math, or related field required.
  2. Minimum five (5) years of experience in human resources or related field with at least three (3) years working with compensation, HRIS, or other required.
  3. Minimum two (2) years of experience in the design and implementation of base salary and variable pay programs required.
  4. Minimum of four (4) years of analytical experience required.
  5. Intermediate or advanced level Microsoft Office applications experience, specifically in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

  • Designs, communicates, administers, and implements base pay and recognition plans that align compensation programs with organizational objectives and are consistent with compensation principles and practices.
  • Manages compensation department projects as assigned, including job classification reviews, market pricing analyses for salaried and bargaining unit positions, department pay practice audits, and policy development.
  • Serves as system administrator to Compensation Cornerstone application.
  • Develops and delivers training programs and management tools to facilitate the implementation of base compensation programs, principles, and practices and performance management solutions.
  • Serves as expert resource in the development of effective compensation and performance management strategies and their integration with management objectives, and to other Human Resources and Organizational Development members regarding compensation issues and questions from line managers.
  • Evaluate and classify position based on standard compensation practices.
  • Maintain and is accountable for ensuring all position descriptions are up to date and reviewed by the manager.
  • Collaborate with internal Human Resources and Organizational Development, Financial Services, and Payroll to provide effective compensation practices and represent the compensation function in responding to audits or collecting human resources data.
  • Understand and gather data from the Financial Accounting system.
  • Develop and implement the program in compliance with national, state and local laws as well as licensing and certification requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

  1. Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule is subject to change based on department needs.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
