Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member to help lead the undergraduate nonprofit management program, including teaching in any or all of the following undergraduate course areas: introduction to nonprofit management, program development and evaluation, fundraising, budgeting and financial decision making, community development, civic engagement and advocacy, statistics, research methods, capstone course and supervision of interns. With support from SRU’s office of community engaged learning and in partnership with a wide range of off-campus community partners, faculty teaching in this program are expected to incorporate service-learning and other high-impact practices into each course.

This faculty member will advise online and traditional undergraduate majors, minors, and those seeking nonprofit certificates. Other expectations of all faculty include participating in other initiatives of the department, college, and university wide committees, plus other efforts that advance the collective good and the sustainability of the Department (including recruiting new students, assessment, and others).

This faculty member will serve as SRU’s liaison to the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance’s Certified Nonprofit Professional ( NLA ), the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council ( NACC ), and various state and regional nonprofit associations.

This faculty member will support the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership at SRU including, strengthening the Institute’s regional networks, conducting research, engaging students and other SRU faculty to support Institute research and programming, and assisting in the capacity building of nonprofit organizations served by the Institute. In addition, this senior faculty member will assist the Institute’s Advisory Council with strategic planning and implementation, revenue generation, program assessment, preparation of reports, and day-to-day management of the Institute.

This faculty member will coordinate the planning and approval of an online master’s program in Nonprofit Management program that is expected to launch in the near future. This faculty member will also lead the department in seeking NACC and other relevant accreditation for SRU’s current undergraduate, future graduate programs, and the Institute. This faculty member should be prepared to create and sustain regional and national distinction for SRU’s nonprofit management programs and the Institute, thus we seek to hire an advanced faculty member, with rank and step to be negotiated according to expertise and experience. Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in Nonprofit Management, Human Services Administration, Macro Social Work, Public Administration and/or Public Policy or relevant discipline with a specific concentration in nonprofit management ( ABD applicants acceptable so long as terminal degree is earned by August 1, 2021). Other requirements include:

1. Undergraduate teaching experience relevant to the position
2. Evidence of successfully engaging students actively within and beyond the classroom, including high-impact pedagogical practices, civic engagement, and/or community-based research.
3. Evidence of researching and/or constructing cross-sector collaboration to address nonprofit sector capacity building and community priorities.
4. Experience supporting the work of nonprofit organizations and/or working with nonprofit professionals.
5. A record of relevant scholarly activity and promise for future scholarship.
6. A record of advancing opportunities for diverse populations
7. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration

In your cover letter, please address your teaching excellence (both within and beyond the classroom), scholarly activity, service, and experience working in and/or with nonprofit organizations. Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience establishing and/or directing an academic research center, community-based research/development center, and/or nonprofit leadership academic center.
2. Leadership positions held in national nonprofit networks, associations and/or organizations.
3. Proven track record as a nonprofit manager and/or consultant.
4. Experience in developing and/or directing an online graduate program in nonprofit management.
5. Experience providing both traditional and online course delivery.
6. Experience with leading a program to national distinction.
