Associate Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Arts and Sciences, Maine Maritime Academy, invites applications for an Associate Professor position in Mathematics to begin Fall 2022. Candidates with experience in mathematical methods in Engineering, Business, Science, or Transportation and a track record of high-quality teaching are encouraged to apply. Courses to be taught regularly may include pre-calculus, technical calculus sequence, introductory computer science, business mathematics, or engineering mathematics. The development of appropriate mathematics or computing electives is encouraged.

In addition to teaching duties, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the college through service on faculty committees, student advising, and an appropriate program of research or professional development.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field in Science or Engineering. Experience teaching via online modalities and a strong track record of successful teaching, particularly working with under-prepared students, is preferred.
