Job Description

The Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director for Undergraduate Academic Integrity. This position is an integral part of our efforts to support and promote a culture of honesty and integrity. The person in this position will be expected to function with a high level of independence grounded in a thorough understanding of the purpose, policies, and procedures of the Undergraduate Honor System. This position will also be expected to interpret, evaluate, and implement the Undergraduate Honor System policy under the direction of the Director of Undergraduate Academic Integrity. This person is responsible for the supervision of the Panel Coordinator. This position will also maintain a direct working relationship with other key stakeholders at the University. This position will require occasional night and weekend work.

The Assistant Director for Undergraduate Academic Integrity is a member of the Undergraduate Honor System’s staff and has primary responsibility for coordinating case management, assisting in the investigation of cases, occasionally meeting with students who are accused of academic misconduct, and providing day-to-day oversight to the hearing panel process.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Oversee the effective scheduling, establishment, and execution of Undergraduate Honor System hearings each year, which requires coordinating the schedules of several faculty members and students on a regular basis. This includes the supervision of the coordinator, attending each hearing panel as well as meeting individually with both students and faculty throughout the hearing panel process.
2. Develop and execute hearing panel recruitment and training process in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Academic Integrity and Student Development.
3. Oversee the coordination and effective implementation of honor system hearings by preparing case files, ensuring proper documentation is present in files, ensuring that individuals associated with the case receive proper documentation, interviewing students accused of academic dishonesty, clarifying policy expectations and interpretations for delegates, and others involve in cases, responding and communicating with faculty on behalf of student leaders when additional information is needed.
4. Assist Director and UHS personnel in interviewing, training, and selection of graduate assistants, interns, panel members, student leaders, and staff members.
5. Develops in conjunction with other administrative staff members bi-monthly reports, semester reports, yearly reports, newspaper reports on cases, and updates for various governance bodies as well as coordinate assessment evaluation initiatives relating to hearing panels.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's Degree and previous experience working in higher education
2. Working knowledge of best practices in academic integrity and/or student conduct
3. Experience working with students in a higher education setting
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate
and collaborate at the highest levels of the university
5. Strong written, oral, organizational, management and interpersonal skills
6. Strong customer service in an academic or professional office environment
7. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and timely decision-making practices to
accomplish organizational goals
8. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in student development, counseling, educational leadership,
public administration, communication, English or a related field
2. Substantial experience in higher education with case adjudication

$50,000 - Compensation package may include a generous relocation stipend if eligible.
