The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Abilene
Christian University invites applications for a visiting assistant
professor or college assistant professor to teach analytical and
freshman level chemistry beginning Fall 2022. Current funding is
for at least 3 years. The successful candidate will demonstrate a
commitment to excellence in teaching. A masters degree in chemistry
or a related field is required, a Ph.D. is preferred. Review of
applications will begin 2/28/2022 and will continue until the
position is filled.
A visiting assistant professor will be expected to teach 4 courses
per semester and conduct research with undergraduate students
during the semester and summer. A college faculty member will teach
4 courses per semester and 2 courses in the summer.
The mission of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is to
prepare students for careers in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical
education, and health professions by displaying high professional
standards and by modeling Christian values, leadership, and
service.

journey, (6) a description of proposed research, if interested in a
visiting faculty position, (7) copies of transcripts for all
academic work, and (8) at least three letters of recommendation
with the recommender's contact information. One must be a letter of
recommendation from a church leader and at least two must be
academic letters of recommendation. Incomplete applications will
not be considered. These can be emailed directly from the
recommender to the department chair, Autumn Sutherlin
(autumn.sutherlin@acu.edu).
