The Department of Behavior Analysis

Located within HPS, the Department of Behavior Analysis prepares graduates for careers in behavior analysis as researchers, academicians and applied behavior analysts. The department has been training students in behavior analysis for over 30 years and has been recognized by ABAI for enduring programmatic contributions to the discipline. We offer four degree programs: an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis, a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis, a Master of Science in Behavior Analysis and a Ph.D. in Health Services with a concentration in Behavior Analysis.

Our Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis is a 30-hour, online only, professional practice degree program designed to provide the knowledge base for effective and compassionate practice in applied behavior analysis. The program offers courses in an asynchronous format with each course offered every semester to allow students maximum flexibility as they pursue their educational and career goals. The Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. concentration in Health Science programs are offered in a traditional on-campus format.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Summary

The Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time Clinical Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2022. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in teaching graduate courses in our online and asynchronous MA degree program, as well as undergraduate and graduate level courses in the on-campus programs. The ideal candidate will also have research interests and broad expertise in the scholarship of pedagogy in online and traditional delivery formats. This is a non-tenure track, multi-year appointment after a one-year probationary period, pending a satisfactory performance evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis or a related discipline from an accredited institution;
  • Meet criteria to teach the Behavior Analysis Certification Board® 5th edition Task List in a Verified Course Sequence (VCS);
  • Experience with online/hybrid/remote instruction;
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching that supports equity and inclusion for all in the academic community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D)
  • Ability to teach in all degree programs with primary responsibility in the online MA program
  • Ability to teach asynchronous online courses including Concepts and Principles 1 & 2, Assessment, Research, Communication or a Capstone course
  • Some experience in online higher education (2+ years preferred)
  • Current knowledge of best pedagogical practices in online learning
  • Competent in technology needed to deliver courses (e.g., Canvas)
