Position Title Temporary Faculty-Non Academic Residency Requirement Applicants must be a Colorado resident. Job Description

This role reports to the Director of Shared Services and works with the Payroll and Employment Supervisor on the day-to-day activities of the Payroll & Employment Operations unit within the Controller’s Office.

Responsibilities
  • Process the School’s Monthly, Semi-monthly, and supplemental payrolls accurately and timely;
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities and liability accounts on a monthly basis to the supporting payroll files and pay in accordance with federal, state and School timelines; use professional judgment in finding and correcting to unreconciled accounts.
  • Enter and review as necessary, all pay entries and ensure that they are entered accurately and timely for payroll processing
  • Interpret Federal and State policies and ensure that all personnel records used for payroll processing are maintained and adhere to applicable policies
  • Assist in Leave Administration for campus
  • Assist with the maintenance of immigration records for Non-Resident aliens. Use analytical and professional
  • judgement to ensures that proper documentation is on file, audit records for compliance.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of the payroll bank account and year end accrual and deferred payroll report.
  • Research discrepancies as they arise for Mines employees, including but not limited to, employee questions and discrepancies about pay information. Analyze and evaluate the employee’s exceptional situation and then recommend any special actions needed to accommodate those situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Professional experience working in a Payroll and HR Operations function;
  • Professional experience with federal and state regulations related to payroll and HR activity;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the State of Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association reporting requirements;
  • CPP, or CPA;
  • Experience with Banner payroll systems;
  • Advanced computer proficiency with Windows-based or other similar software packages involving: spreadsheets, databases, word-processing, and presentation applications, including experience working with large and complex data sets.

$23 - $28/hour
