The Academic Support Services Manager assists the Academic Support Services unit in meeting goals of the increased retention, graduation, and academic success of undergraduate students, with particular emphasis at-risk students. Provide day-to-day leadership of the Learning Commons, promote the establishment of quality support services across UCM’s campuses both physical and online, assist the executive director in evaluating existing programs and anticipating student needs.

1. The principal purpose of this position is to assist in day-to-day leadership of the Learning Commons services while coordinating and supervising tutoring services across UCM’s physical and online campuses for all UCM students.
2. The primary objective of this position is to identify campus needs for academic assistance, maintain a roster of highly-qualified peer tutors to meet those needs, supervise the tutoring environments to ensure quality services, and use assessment data to make data-driven decisions about academic support services. Master’s degree in any program related to the education and/ support of student services.

Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience. Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Web Page Maintenance Experience
1. Minimum of three years faculty or staff full or part-time experience working with adult learners in an educational setting.
2. Minimum of one year of experience in student programming.
3. Preferred: Experience teaching college-level courses. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license, Missouri license required Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Budget-related skills, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Supervisory skills, including motivation, delegation of duties, evaluation, etc, Management and/or administration skills, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
