Mission or Goal of Unit: Advance the patient care, Research, and Education Missions of the academic medical center through providing Patient care in the Cellular Immunotherapy and Transplant (CIT) Program

Chief Purpose of this position: The Chief Purpose of this Position is to support our patient care mission.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching – Teaches and evaluates medical students, residents, and fellows when applicable

Research - Keeps up to date on the clinical trial menu offered through the Massey Cancer Center and educates patients on their options for treatment on clinical trials.

Service – Participates on CIT quality, safety, and patient experience committees

Clinical - Attends on the Cellular Immunotherapy and Transplant Program 7 consecutive nights for 26 weeks per year.Covers ONLY the CIT team which would involve taking care of patients on the inpatient service of CIT (census typically 15-20) and admitting patients to the CIT team overnight (no cap). Responsible for the triage of outpatient calls for medical management and possible assessment.

Required Qualifications: Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine and eligible for Virginia licensure. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
