Job Description:

Collaborate and serve as the recreation outreach liaison to UF Campus Partners and student organizations. Coordinate, collaborate, cosponsor, and deliver recreation, play, and in motion experiences/events/activities across a variety of UF campus locations. Examples include open play, drop-in events, leisure activities, tournaments.

Provide leadership and coordination on Recreational Sports special events such as Battle of the Halls, Big Pink Volleyball, Great Gator Welcome events, RecSports Great Gator Reunion events, Flash Tournaments, “learn to” series, etc. Recruit staff to assist with event management. Assist in training, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating student staff.

Plan, organize, and lead RecSports involvement in the New Student and Family Preview Program. Lead the department’s efforts in communicating and telling the story of the benefits of living in motion and engagement opportunities with RecSports such as Destination UF/ Swamp Sessions, First Year Florida presentations and UF Community presentations.

Assist with the management and oversight of the Alumni Engagement and Sponsorship Programs.

Coordinate with Division of Student Life Marketing and Communications and departments to recruit and attract participation and engagement opportunities. Assess student needs, satisfaction, program effectiveness and develop reports for the areas of responsibility.

Expected Salary:

$45,500.00

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization or a bachelor’s degree and two years of appropriate experience.

Valid Florida Drivers license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree and two years of event planning, management, and outreach in a campus recreation/higher education setting; ability to work with minimal supervision; think laterally and undertake initiatives; effectively supervise; strong communication and presentation skills; self-motivated; creative; adaptable; collaborative; a great team player; and customer focused
