Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level VDI and Endpoint Management Systems Administrator to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT. A competitive candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn with outstanding communication skills, the ability to adapt to a changing work environment, and the skill set required to assess and provide technical solutions to meet the needs of our campus users.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

• Develop, deploy, and maintain systems and network configurations providing virtual application and desktop services
• Develop, deploy, and maintain systems and network configurations providing endpoint servers and computers protection, updates, and management services
• Develop and maintain infrastructure components and configurations including, servers, directory services, configuration management, monitoring, and network configuration that provide information technology services to internal and external clients of UFIT

Expected Salary:

$75,000 – $85,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package. https://benefits.hr.ufl.edu/

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

• Designing and managing virtual desktop infrastructures (specifically leveraging Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) in large-scale enterprise environments using on-premise and cloud deployments
• Virtual computer image creation and management tools such as Citrix App Layering, Machine Creations Services (MCS), and Provisioning Services (PVS)
• Windows management (both Server and PC OSs) with the ability to perform in-depth server troubleshooting and manage anti-virus and anti-malware
• Windows Servers and PCs security updates process
• Automation with scripting tools using PowerShell and Git
• Understanding of SCCM
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Terraform
• Familiarity with configuration tools such as PowerShell, DSC, and Chef

Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to communicate goals/objectives and use active feedback to improve services
• Ability to successfully work with teams on large projects
• Ability to observe, detect, identify and resolve complex technical challenges and communicate resolutions in a clear, concise and complete manner
• Strong ability to conduct root cause analyses and provide in-depth troubleshooting to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of UFIT services
