Posting Number: 0600973-NC Position Type: Faculty Pools Position Title: Librarian Faculty, Part-time Division/Department: Library Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:
This is a part-time, non-contracted position that works 5-15 hours per week. The position is intended primarily to provide reference desk services and information literacy instruction. Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree or 27 graduate credits hours in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA -accredited institution. Knowledge of information concepts, teaching and assessment methods, and instructional technology. Ability to work independently. Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and operation of other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and sufficient hearing and well-developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students.

Work is performed in a highly active, open lab setting and instructional service area with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Area environment includes multiple background conversations and frequent interruptions. Essential Duties:
Provide individual, class, and course-integrated information literacy instruction (both face-to-face and online) and conduct orientation tours as a part of the library’s regular instructional program. Create both print and online information literacy instructional materials, tutorials and libguides.

Provide in-person, telephone, and online reference services in a full range of levels and disciplines. May provide evening and weekend reference service as scheduled.

Participate in collection development to meet the information needs of students and employees. Assist with the de-selection of library resources.

Maintain familiarity with, and knowledge of, current library technologies and their applications.

Participate as a team member of the library.

Perform other duties as required to carry out the objectives of the position. Applicant Instructions:
