JOB TITLE SUMMARY

Job Title: Technical Representative, Academic Services

Starting Salary: $ 20.67 + per hour

Reports To: Registrar

Job Summary

The technical representative, academic services is responsible for general operational duties within the Academic Services office. Additionally, this position assists the registrar on special projects including Honors Convocation and commencement ceremonies.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution
  • Maintains familiarity with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations and privacy laws governing higher education
  • Performs daily operational functions of the Academic Services department; assists with processing departmental forms
  • Assists with organizing Honors Convocation and commencement ceremonies
  • Prioritizes timely completion of special projects
  • Directs students to the correct office or faculty member for approvals
  • Utilizes University catalogs to answer questions and explain policies
Service Excellence
  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
  • Works on the day of the events for Honors Convocation and commencement ceremonies
  • Interacts with students, faculty, staff, coaches, and alumni in a professional manner
  • Provides excellent customer service via email and phone, answering questions regarding Academic Services procedures
Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
  • Answers questions via telephone or email, or by assisting walk-ins
  • Collaborate with College Administrators, staff, and vendors planning for the Honors Convocation and Commencement Ceremonies
  • Communicate with students and guests the details for Honors Convocation and Commencement
  • Resolves student academic issues within an efficient timeframe
Job may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Familiarity with FERPA regulations and privacy laws governing higher education
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the field of higher education preferred
  • Completion of vaccination status survey and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of hire.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

  • Ability to use good judgment and think critically
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
