Under supervision, the Enrollment and Completion advisor is responsible for supporting freshman students in meeting their educational and social objectives by ensuring the accomplishment of operational outcomes in process or programs. The ECA serves as the main point of contact for the First Year Experience, including enrollment and registration, Summer of Success academy, and advising students through teaching the TSU Freshman Seminar course. ECA’s provide direction and referrals to their cohort to meet the student need, collaborate on growth opportunities within the FYE, and regularly track student’s success and progress throughout their freshman year. Advising cohorts can be more than 200 students across sections. Essential Duties Summary
  • Meets with student cohorts regularly as an instructor for the Freshman Seminar course.
  • Regularly tracks academic progress and success of students within the course.
  • Responsible for meeting the curriculum objectives as laid out in the Freshman Seminar syllabus.
  • Utilizes multi-modal instruction to engage students with classroom content.
  • Thinks outside of the box on how classroom time can be used to drive (1) campus engagement, (2) use of Student Academic Support Services resources, and (3) Academic Progress.
  • Monitors student’s (1) campus engagement, (2) use of Student Academic Support Services resources, and (3) Academic Progress.
  • Tracks and provides data on cohort group, including success, retention, and completion rates.
  • Responsible for utilizing EAB to track institutional and departmental outcomes.
  • Generates required statistical reports to fulfill University and outside agency requirements.
  • Works with faculty and university staff to identify and provide needed early interventions to their cohort groups.
  • Assists students in overcoming educational and study skills deficiencies. Refers students to counselors for personal issues.
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates files to ensure coursework and other specific program requirements are met by students. X 50
  • Plays a fundamental role in working with college academic advisors to advise and enroll all first-year students.
  • Connects students to resources, makes referrals, in the areas of financial aid, housing, student accounting, or other inhibitors to enrollment.
  • Connects with successful students during the program to prepare them for the Fall semester.
  • Reviews transcripts to ensure eligibility for admission to a specific program and evaluates transfer credits and applicability to program requirements and makes referrals when necessary.
  • Responsible for converting potential SOS participants to enrolled students based on program completion.
  • Advises and assists students in the development of academic plans and class schedules.

1.0 Hiring Range $41,976.00 - $52,470.00 Education
Master’s Degree (M.A. or M.S.) from four-year College or university or equivalent. Proof of enrollment in a master’s Program may suffice. Required Licensing/Certification

Work Experience
Requires two (2) to three (3) years or equivalent in student services or a related field. Instructional experience a plus. Working/Environmental Conditions
Prolonged standing and/or walking.
Handling light weight objects.
