Under general supervision coordinates assigned administrative activities necessary to band operations and assists with the band program relative to music selection, arrangement and performance training and implementation. Essential Duties Summary
  • Oversees Marching Band Rehearsal.
  • Conducts the band and serves as band performance implementation assistant.
  • Conducts Symphonic Band/ Wind Ensemble in the Spring Semester.
  • Oversees all student committees and organizations within the program.
  • Assumes control of University Bands in absence of Director of Bands.
  • Assists and guides the Assistant Director of Bands in daily tasks.

1.0 Hiring Range $55,513.00 - $69,392.00 Education
Master’s degree, work experience in related fields may be accepted in lieu of education level requirement. Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Work Experience
Five (5) years of experience as a band director.

Working/Environmental Conditions
  • Prolong standing and/or walking.
  • Moderate risk of accident.
  • Handling moderate weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
  • Stoop, bend, or lift.
  • May require routine travel.
