* Master’s degree in Biology, OR
* Master’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 45 credit hours in biology, including a minimum of 18 credit hours at the graduate level. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited university.
• Two years of teaching experience using interactive teaching techniques.
• Teaching experience in a community college and demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Human Anatomy, Physiology and other Biology courses.
• Familiarity with federal/state safety regulations that impact biology laboratories.
• Interest and/or ability to teach online.
• Familiarity and willingness to employ current pedagogical, instructional, and assessment methods in teaching college students.
• Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and
outside the classroom.
• Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
• Experience working with students from a diverse background.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Special Instructions to Applicants
Positions contingent on budget-appropriated funding. Position available Fall 2022 unless otherwise approved.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Brief Description of Duties:
• Deliver effective instruction – Provide quality instruction, which is reflective of current discipline standards and is accurate, relevant, and engaging using college – approved curriculum and resources.
• Assess student learning – Demonstrate reflective practice, including assessment of student learning. This includes ongoing formative assessments, as well as official departmental assessment.
• Manage classes and learning environments – Foster a positive classroom-learning environment by presenting information in a way that is inclusive to all learners, including the assurance of section 508 accessibility.
• Promote continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning.
• Support learning through student engagement – Incorporate pedagogical strategies such as active learning, authentic and problem-based activities, and other successful teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
• Provide student guidance – Help students develop academic habits for college success.
• Pursue professional development – Stay current in academic field.
• Actively participate collegially in department, campus, cross-college, discipline-specific, district, and community service activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to provide a high quality learning experience for students, including participating in commencement, attending college functions, etc. Special Requirements:
