Job Summary:

Continuing Studies seeks a marketing and communications professional, with digital marketing experience, who has a growth mindset, is collaborative, has a strong customer-service orientation, and possesses keen analytical abilities and superior communication skills. Reporting to the dean, the new Marketing Director should be a strategic thinker and a strong problem solver, blending creative and analytical skills. He or she must possess the ability to strategically lead a marketing organization, to partner and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, and to maximize ROI on marketing investments.

This senior leader will develop, implement, and evaluate brand and marketing strategy for a variety of institutional-level programs that are included in the Chancellor's strategic framework 2020-2025 for revenue growth: summer term, professional degrees & certificates (PDC), and the online undergraduate degree (OUD), as well as precollege and noncredit professional programming. The marketing director will be expected to deliver in three main areas: 1) development of marketing strategies with a focus on digital marketing; 2) execution with a focus on ROI, necessary organizational structure and capabilities, and being agile; and 3) leveraging across the portfolio of educational programs. Shifting demographics and technologies will require new services, policies, technologies, and partnerships to support the lifelong learner. Director will be expected to lead and manage our marketing efforts in the context of campus and division priorities and culture while leveraging opportunities and recognizing constraints.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Seven or more years of progressively responsible professional marketing experience in an agency, company, or other complex organization with a preference for experience in higher education. Experience required in building brands and in designing, implementing, and evaluating integrated strategic marketing campaigns with a strong emphasis in digital marketing.

-- An ability to strategically lead the marketing team including connecting to campus vision, mission, and initiatives, articulating core competencies, and creating an agile organizational structure
-- Ability to develop marketing plans to yield necessary digital leads to meet enrollment goals
-- Experience working with external vendors and demonstrated ability to leverage vendor relationships and capabilities, particularly in support of digital marketing
-- Ability to work with internal and external partners, build new partnerships, and maintain existing
-- Demonstrated understanding of ROI related to marketing campaigns and experience developing metrics and reporting to show ROI
-- Collaborative and collegial; eager to engage with senior leaders, program directors, and other stakeholders and build strong personal relationships; a skilled negotiator with a disposition for win-win solutions
-- An entrepreneurial, growth mindset with an openness to new ideas and approaches
-- Demonstrated ability to lead, adapt and effect change in a large, decentralized, complex and fluid environment
-- Outstanding oral, written, and digital communication skills
-- Enthusiasm for education, particularly higher education, a plus
