Accessibility & Disability Coordinator

 

Coastal Carolina University is seeking an Accessibility & Disability Coordinator to join the Accessibility & Disability Services team! This is a full-time position directly serving students with disabilities, along with campus community collaboration.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to: provide a first point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and community members connecting with Accessibility & Disability Services; utilize active listening to problem solve and provide accurate information and referrals, as needed; participate in department and division-wide meetings; provide direct services to students with disabilities including, but not limited to, initial connection meetings, coaching, accommodation implementation, and test administration; manage alternative / audio text accommodation implementation; manage assistive technology accommodation implementation; represent Accessibility & Disability Services at campus events; participates in education of the campus community about Accessibility & Disability Services including oversight for ADS social media; facilitate ongoing education opportunities for faculty, staff, and students; provide support to ADS colleague who serves as the primary coordinator of testing accommodation implementation; and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant experience is required.  A master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Disability Studies, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field with at least two (2) years of relevant experience in student services in a university setting is preferred.

Student Services Program Coordinator I (CB65/149869/FTE-S00548P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 04. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.  Must be able to work evenings and weekends during peak times of the year.
