The Director of Assessment will report to the Vice Provost for Planning and Effectiveness and is responsible for leading assessment activities for academic affairs at Colorado State University in accordance with best practices and accreditation requirements.  The position works, in collaboration with Vice Provost for Planning and Effectiveness, to provide vision and guidance to the assessment of student learning outcomes/objectives (SLOs) including both the general education curriculum and institutional learning objectives.

In addition, the Director will provide support and consultation to academic departments/units for the assessment of program learning outcomes/objectives (PLOs), will work collaboratively with The Institute for Teaching and Learning & Technology (TILT) to provide assessment training/resources for faculty, and work successfully with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness in the program review process. 

Of paramount importance, the position will ensure the institution can demonstrate effectively that it takes responsibility for the quality of its educational programs, learning environments, and supports a process of continuous improvement as defined by the Higher Learning Commission.
