Assistant Teaching Professor of Visual Arts
Penn State Altoona is seeking a full time, 36 weeks, non-tenure
line, single year assistant teaching professor of visual arts to
begin July 2022. The successful candidate will join a growing
visual arts program, teach courses to support the Visual Art
Studies (BA) major, the forthcoming Graphic Design Minor (fall
2022) and general education offerings for non-majors. This position
has a good possibility of renewal.
The college anticipates hiring an active and engaged faculty member
who combines disciplinary expertise with demonstrated excellence in
teaching. The position requires the ability to teach all levels of
undergraduate Graphic Design courses from introductory to advanced.
The successful candidate will maintain office hours to meet with
students, serve as an academic adviser, contribute to committee and
service work, and provide support to recruitment and retention
efforts. The successful candidate will hold an MFA in graphic
design or related field or the equivalent industry experience as a
graphic design professional. Three years of prior teaching
experience at the university level, as instructor of record, is
