Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Business

Penn State Mont Alto invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position. This is a full time, 36 weeks, limited-term (multi-year) contract, to teach in the Associate of Science in Business Administrations and Bachelor of Science in Business programs beginning August 2022.

Successful applicants should have earned an M.S. in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field at a minimum to be considered for rank of Lecturer, a Ph.D. to be considered for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Experience as a practicing professional as an accountant (CPA) is a plus. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience are preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. The successful applicant will teach introductory courses in Accounting and Finance; additional expertise to teach other related business or statistics courses a plus. The successful candidate will serve as the campus program lead for Associate of Science in Business Administration program related to curricular changes, assessment, etc. The successful applicant will also advise students and provide career guidance; collaborate in recruitment and retention of business students; participate in campus, university, and community service activities; and engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. The expectation is that the successful applicant will use traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods as needed, and teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed.

Penn State Mont Alto is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. It is a student-centered campus of approximately 750 students; about 25% are adult learners. The campus is located in south central Pennsylvania in a rural setting adjacent to the Michaux State Forest. The coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors are offered, as well as seven baccalaureate degrees and seven associate degrees, including Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at the associate and bachelor's degree levels.

Students and faculty at Penn State Mont Alto have all the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small, and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention. Our faculty members are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience to their students and are actively engaged in research. Our students receive a world-class education delivered in a small campus setting and have opportunities to participate in undergraduate research projects supervised by faculty members.
