Position Description:
Covid Support Analyst (HR & University Personnel) This position is dependent upon continued need and funding related to Covid 19. This temporary, non-benefited position is expected to begin on February 1, 2022 and end May 31, 2022 with prospects for extending. Hours are variable, up to 40 hours per week. DEFINITION:Under the general direction of CSUMB University Personnel (UP) and Corporation Human Resources (HR), the Covid Support Analyst is responsible for contacting COVID-19 positive individuals and support tasks, communicating/ coordinating with UP/HR about exposure incidents and individual leave rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Functions:
  1. Respond by phone/email to positive employees to inform them of leave options; to managers of employees who will need to be off site and coordinate the option for remote work. Include Self-attestation form, Isolation Exit date with instructions for clearance to return to campus.
  2. Send email notifications to close contact employees and managers of those employees.
  3. Review positive cases involving employees and input necessary information timely into OSHA logs.
  4. Determine exposure locations and calculate maximum occupancy day and number utilizing door access reports, then input in OSHA log within 72 hours of notification of positive case
  5. Track employer related exposures for data entry in Sedgewick worker comp online reporting; facilitate WC report(s) completion, medical referral and coordinate with WC claims manager.
  6. Inform employee and manager of rights and exclusion pay.
  7. Leave tracking log - input names of employees in isolation with start and exit dates; verify receipt of self-attestation form for release.
  8. Coordinate appropriate pay provision for employees with Payroll dept.
  9. In the event of an outbreak, coordinate weekly testing and track the unit until no positive cases within that unit for (7 days to 14).
  10. Ensure invoicing and payment to the surveillance testing center if not the Otter Student Union.
  11. Coordinate tracing efforts between Stateside and Corp for employees who share employment.
  12. Provide assigned department support duties as needed/assigned related to COVID-19 safety.
  13. Participate in all OSHA and University safety programs, as required, and follow all work safety guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to work independently with some supervision; an ability to understand standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; typing and keyboard skills; an ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma AND three to six months of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a job-related field AND one year experience in coordinating work through a system of internal procedures and internal controls to ensure efficient operation.

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSUMB Vision Statement and the core values of mutual respect, collaboration and service orientation, multiculturalism and diversity, community service and institutional excellence. Experience working with a diverse and multicultural population and performing community services; demonstrated technical literacy.

Special Conditions of Employment:
Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position including the knowledge and abilities identified above.

Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule, including nights and/or weekends; and travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and complete and pass training in Defensive Driving. Must continue to meet the established driving standards as a condition of employment. A parking permit must be purchased while on campus.

Hours are variable, up to 40 hours per week, on-call rotation.

Compensation and Benefits:
The University Corporation is committed to providing our employees with a comprehensive program that rewards efforts that are appreciated by your colleagues, students, and the customers we serve. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources. The hourly hiring range for this position is $26-28. This is a non-exempt position and as such is eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
