Purpose of Position
The Senior web developer’s responsibilities include leading analytics and compliance, project management of large-scale IT-enabled web development, develops and maintains web standards/guidelines and works with content managers to develop new web experiences in alignment with the University’s strategic plan under the direction of the Director of Web and Digital Strategies.

This position independently, strategically and systematically creates positive web experiences for NKU through creative front-end coding, innovative design/layout and utilizes best practices and the latest web technologies to implement. Primary Responsibilities
  • Project management of web development implementation projects
  • Publish and update new and existing HTML web content related to the corporate website.
  • Proofread, test links, and validate the website for quality assurance purposes. Ensure that all documents are accurate and meet established branding standards
  • Work with internal stakeholders, external assets and ensure the content and branding of such sites upholds NKU mission and core values
  • Design the structure and design of web pages that integrate features to enhance the user experience
  • Build reusable code for future uses
  • Ensure design is responsive & optimized across devices and optimized for speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and graphic designers to improve the usability
  • Write functional requirement documents and training guides
  • Use existing analytics platforms and methodologies to track the effectiveness of web marketing. (Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge (including regulatory compliance, digital accessibility and usability standards, and web coding standards/techniques) by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal and professional networks
  • Administrate and monitor and all subdomains for ADA deficiencies and corrections
  • Undertake other work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Web and Digital Strategy
  • With a Bachelor’s Degree (Digital marketing, web, interactive multimedia or graphic design related field preferred): 4 years of web design and development and editing content for digital channels
  • With Associate’s Degree: 8 years of web design and development and editing content for digital channels
  • Familiar with website optimization process – understanding consumer needs, defining the overall experience and then translating it into live pages using sitemaps and wireframes
  • Advanced proficiency in HTML, HTML5, CSS and other web programming languages
  • Experienced with utilizing Bootstrap for responsive web design
  • Self-initiative and proactiveness to bring ideas to further improve our website and digital marketing.
  • Experience using A/B testing to inform experiments and/or optimize conversion rates
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines consistently
  • Higher education marketing experiences a definite plus
