Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level End User Computing Specialist to join e-Learning Support, a unit within UFIT, in the role of Senior e-Learning Support Specialist.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

e-Learning Support aids faculty, staff, and students with e-Learning tools on campus, such as Canvas, VoiceThread, and Qualtrics. Assistance is provided via phone and ticket system. 

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and recommend appropriate solutions on client issues with e-Learning tools      
  • Provide expert referral of problems to vendors or computing service providers on campus 
  • Interact with clients and service providers by phone, email, ticketing systems, chat systems, and web-based tools 
  • Test new educational technologies as they become centrally supported and assist with rollout plans and decision-making process 
  • Provide training for faculty, staff, and grad students on the use of the learning management system.
  • Collaborate with different units across campus to help improve e-Learning support processes.
  • May be temporarily assigned to assist with additional instructional technology support needs within Academic Technology

Expected Salary:

$45,000 – $55,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package. https://benefits.hr.ufl.edu/

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:
  • e-Learning tools for higher education such as Canvas, VoiceThread, and Qualtrics
  • Administering, building courses in, and/or providing user support for course management systems (especially Canvas)
  • Providing technical user support in a higher education setting, including in-depth diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Experience with varying learning technologies
