Job Description:

The University of Florida Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position to join the division’s team of productive investigators. The Division’s research faculty consists of 11 principal investigators whose research interests include: Antimicrobial resistance and pharmacotherapy, microbiome, hospital epidemiology, mycobacteria, HIV, and vector-borne diseases.

Candidates must have active research funding in Molecular Epidemiology of Tuberculosis and experience with TB research. The candidate will be expected to provide research related lectures to fellows, students, and other trainees, provide mentorship to fellows interested in basic science or epidemiological research and function as part of the Divisions research team.

The University of Florida Health Science Center features one of only 2 Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) hubs in the state of Florida. The CTSI features a Training and Research Academy for Clinical and Translational Science for early career faculty seeking to develop research skills and pursue careers as clinical investigators. The Gainesville region has an inexpensive cost of living, nationally ranked public middle and high schools, and superb weather with multiple year-round recreational opportunities including biking, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and cave diving. Gainesville Regional Airport provides non-stop service to four major international air travel hubs.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD, and active research funding in Molecular Epidemiology of Tuberculosis and experience with TB research.
